REPUBLIC ACT NO. 10628

AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF FISH PORTS IN THE MUNICIPALITIES OF TONGKIL, TAPUL, LUGUS, KALINGGALAN CALUANG AND SIASI, PROVINCE OF SULU AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. There shall be constructed, under the supervision of the Department of Agriculture (DA) through the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA), fish ports in the municipalities of Tongkil, Tapul, Lugus, Kalinggalan Caluang and Siasi, Province of Sulu.

Section 2. The PFDA, in coordination with the local government units concerned, shall formulate the rules and regulations necessary for the effective implementation of this Act.

Section 3. The Secretary of Agriculture shall include in the Department’s programs the construction of said fish ports, the funding of which shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act. The local government unit concerned shall set aside funds from any available local revenues in an amount deemed appropriate for its operationalization.1âwphi1

Section 4. This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in two (2) newspapers of general circulation.
