REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9120       April 20, 2001

AN ACT TO RECLASSIFY THE WHOLE LAND WITHIN THE ISLAND KNOWN AS RAMESAMEY/COWRIE ISLAND IN THE CITY OF PUERTO PRINCESA, PROVINCE OF PALAWAN FROM TIMBERLAND TO THAT OF ALIENABLE AND DISPOSABLE LAND

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. The land comprising the whole island known as Ramesamey/Cowrie Island situated in the City of Puerto Princesa, Province of Palawan is hereby reclassified from timberland to that of alienable and disposable land which is particularly described as follows:

Beginning at a point marked "1" being N 09-18 E 11,123.29 M. from BLLM No.1, Cad-800-D Puerto Princesa City Cadastre, Palawan, thence N 51-39 W 87.19 M to point 2; N 14-43 E 13.90 M to point 3; N 66-07 E 14.68 M to point 4; N 88-26 E 105.78 M to point 5; S 71-25 E 86.06 to point 6; S 61-60 E 64.55 M to point 7; S 45-14 E 98.70 M to point 8; S 66-51E 50.99 to point 9; S 60-37 W 80.01 M to point 10; S 78-50 W 43-61M to point 11; N 69-41W 64.45 to point 12; N 54-53 W 167.35 M to point of beginning.

Containing an area of thirty-four thousand five hundred seventy-two (34,572) square meters.

Section 2. The Secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources shall issue all the necessary orders, rules and circulars to implement the provisions of this Act.

Section 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.

This Act which is a consolidation of House Bill No. 12238 and Senate Bill No. 2161 was finally passed by the House of Representatives and Senate on February 8, 2001 and February 5, 2001, respectively.
