AN ACT CHANGING THE NAME OF THE SOUTHERN SAMAR AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF SALCEDO, PROVINCE OF EASTERN SAMAR, INTO A COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY TO BE KNOWN AS THE SOUTHERN SAMAR COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. The Southern Samar Agricultural College in the Municipality of Salcedo, Province of Eastern Samar, is hereby changed into a college of agriculture, science and technology, to be known as the Southern Samar College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, hereinafter referred to as the College.

Section 2. In addition to its existing curricular offerings, the College shall offer degree and short-term courses in the fields of industrial education, science and technology as may be deemed relevant to the needs of the community.

Section 3. The College shall be under the supervision of the Commission on Higher Education.Ꮮαwρhi৷ It shall be headed by the incumbent vocational school superintendent who shall be upgraded to vocational college superintendent position.  The other relevant academic and technical positions shall likewise be upgraded to be at par with positions in state colleges and universities.

Section 4. The Commission on Higher Education shall take the necessary steps for the immediate operationalization of the Southern Samar College of Agriculture, Science and Technology and the implementation of the provisions of this Act.

Section 5. The amount necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be charged against the current year's appropriation of the Southern Samar Agricultural College.  Thereafter, such sums as may be necessary for its operations and maintenance shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

Section 6. All laws, decrees, executive orders, rules and regulations and other issuances or parts thereof, which are inconsistent with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed, amended or modified accordingly.

Section 7. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
