[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8561, February 26, 1998 ]

AN ACT UPGRADING THE BATAAN PROVINCIAL HOSPITAL IN THE PROVINCE OF BATAAN, INTO A TERTIARY LEVEL II HOSPITAL, INCREASING ITS BED CAPACITY TO THREE HUNDRED FIFTY (350) BEDS, UNDER THE DIRECT CONTROL, SUPERVISION AND MANAGEMENT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. The Bataan Provincial Hospital in the Province of Bataan is hereby upgraded into a tertiary level II hospital, increasing its bed capacity from three hundred (300) to three hundred fifty (350) at least; increasing its operating fund; upgrading its medical equipment and facilities; and constructing the needed infrastructure under the direct control, management and supervision of the Department of Health.

Section 2. The Department of Health shall issue the necessary rules and regulations for the effective implementation of this Act.

Section 3. The amount necessary for the initial implementation of this Act shall be charged against the current year's appropriations for the organizational adjustment fund. Thereafter, such sums as may be needed for its continued operation shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

Section 4. This Act shall take effect immediately upon its approval.
