[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8543, February 23, 1998 ]

AN ACT CONVERTING THE BASILAN PROVINCIAL HOSPITAL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF ISABELA, PROVINCE OF BASILAN, INTO A TERTIARY HOSPITAL UNDER THE FULL ADMINISTRATIVE AND TECHNICAL SUPERVISION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, INCREASING ITS CAPACITY TO ONE HUNDRED (100) BEDS, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. The Basilan Provincial Hospital in the Municipality of Isabela, Province of Basilan, is hereby converted into a tertiary hospital which shall be under the full administrative and technical supervision of the Department of Health (DOH): Provided, That the present funding support of the province is continued.

Section 2. The Department of Health shall promulgate the rules and regulations necessary for the effective implementation of this Act.

Section 3. The amount necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be included in the General Appropriations Act of the year following its enactment into law and thereafter.

Section 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
