AN ACT UPGRADING THE BATANES PROVINCIAL HOSPITAL IN BASCO, BATANES, TO TERTIARY LEVEL II HOSPITAL TO BE KNOWN AS THE BATANES GENERAL HOSPITAL

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. The existing Batanes Provincial Hospital in Basco, Batanes, is hereby upgraded into a tertiary level II hospital to be known as the Batanes General Hospital.Ꮮαwρhi৷

Section 2. This upgrading shall provide the hospital with the capability of a tertiary level II hospital without increasing the hospital's bed capacity.

Section 3. Upon its upgrading, the Batanes General Hospital shall be under the direct technical operation and administration of the Department of Health.

Section 4. The Secretary of Health shall issue such rules and regulations as may be necessary to carry out the purpose of this Act.

Section 5. The amount necessary for the initial implementation of this Act shall be charged against the current year's appropriations for the Organizational Adjustment Fund. Thereafter, such sums as may be needed for its continued operation shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

Section 6. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.

Approved, Lapsed into law on January 19, 1998, without the signature of the President, in accordance with Article VI, Section 27 (1) of the Constitution.
