[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 893, June 20, 1953 ]

AN ACT TO AMEND FURTHER SECTION NINETEEN HUNDRED TWENTY-NINE OF THE REVISED ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, SO AS TO RECREATE THE POSITION OF ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF POSTS, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. Section nineteen hundred twenty-nine of the Revised Administrative Code, as amended by Executive Order Numbered Ninety-four, dated October fourth, nineteen hundred and forty-seven, is hereby further amended to read as follows:

"Section 1929. Chief officials of the Bureau of Posts.1a⍵⍴h!1—The Bureau of Posts shall have one chief and one assistant chief, designated respectively as the Director of Posts and the Assistant Director of Posts."

Section 2. The designation "Assistant Director of Posts" which appeared in other sections of said Code prior to the elimination thereof by the aforesaid Executive Order shall be restored.

Section 3. The Assistant Director of Posts shall receive a salary of six thousand six hundred pesos per annum. The sum needed to cover the salary of the Assistant Director of Posts, upon the effectivity of this Act until the end of the fiscal year nineteen hundred and fifty-three to nineteen hundred and fifty-four, shall be taken from the savings of the Bureau of Posts for the fiscal year nineteen hundred fifty-two to nineteen hundred and fifty-three, and thereafter such sum shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

Section 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
