[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 527, June 16, 1950 ]

AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION TWO THOUSAND AND NINETY-SEVEN OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE SO AS TO INCREASE THE COMPENSATION OF THE MEMBERS OF THE PROVINCIAL BOARD.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. Section two thousand and ninety-seven of the Administrative Code is hereby amended to read as follows:

"Section 2097. Compensation of elective members. - Except as otherwise specially provided, the elective members of the provincial board shall receive a compensation, to be fixed by resolution of the provincial board, of not less than fifteen nor more than twenty-five pesos for each day of actual attendance at the sessions of the board; and except as otherwise specially provided, compensation shall in no case be paid for service rendered by a member of the board out of session. The amount of the per diem shall not be changed more than once a year.

"If not a resident of the provincial capital, an elective member of the Provincial Board shall be entitled to reimbursement of his actual and necessary travel expenses from his place of residence to the place where the provincial board holds its sessions, when going to said sessions and returning from the same."

Section 2. The provisions hereof are hereby made applicable to members of the provincial boards in the specially organized provinces.

Section 3. All laws or provisions of law inconsistent herewith are repealed.
