REPUBLIC ACT No. 424

AN ACT APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE OPERATION OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES DURING THE PERIOD FROM JULY ONE, NINETEEN HUNDRED AND FORTY-NINE TO JUNE THIRTY, NINETEEN HUNDRED AND FIFTY, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

Section 1. Out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the following sums are hereby appropriated for the operation of the Government of the Republic of the Philippines during the period from July one, nineteen hundred and forty-nine to June thirty, nineteen hundred and fifty, as provided in Executive Order Nos. 225, 226, 239 and 240, series of 1949:


A.The several sums appropriated in RepublicAct Numbered Three hundred and twenty forthe same purposes, services, and activities thereinspecified, all the provisions of the said Act beinghereby reenacted and made a part hereof (ExecutiveOrder No. 225, series of 1949P232,300,297.00
B.The following sums, or so much thereofas may be necessary, for the several purposes, servicesand activities established by laws hereinafter mentioned,all the special and general provisions of Republic ActNumbered Three hundred and twenty being herebymade applicable to them (Executive Order No. 240,series of 1949):
1. For the operation and maintenance of the national agricultural school in the Province of Occidental Negros (Republic Act No. 43)P289,500.00

1. For continuing the health work and activities undertaken by the United States Public Health Service in the PhilippinesP300,000.00

For continuing the quarantine work to be taken over from the United States Public Health Service in accordance with the policy to relinquish gradually to the Philippine Government all activities now being undertaken and financed by the said Service under the Philippine Rehabilitation Act of 1946200,000.00
3. For the operation and maintenance of international air communications, navigation services and radio aids paid for by the United States Government to be completely taken over by the Government of the Republic of the Philippines on July 1, 1949225,000.00
4. For the operation and maintenance of the Weather Bureau stations paid for by the United States Government to be completely taken over by the Government of the Republic of the Philippines on July 1, 1949150,000.00

Section 2. The motor vehicles which are to be transferred or which were transferred by the agencies concerned by the United States to the Republic of the Philippines and which are used by the Bureau of Health and the Bureau of Quarantine Service for health, sanitation, and quarantine work for the prevention and control of epidemics, shall continue to be operated and maintained for the same purposes by the said bureaus.

Section 3. For the purposes of this Act, Executive Orders Numbered Two hundred twenty-five, Two hundred twenty-six, Two hundred thirty-nine, and Two hundred forty, series of nineteen hundred forty-nine, are hereby ratified, and all acts and disbursements heretofore made in pursuance thereof are hereby authorized.

Section 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
