[ PROCLAMATION NO. 234, May 26, 2023 ]

DECLARING THURSDAY, 15 JUNE 2023, A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE PROVINCE OF PAMPANGA

WHEREAS, the volcanic eruption of Mt. Pinatubo on 15 June 1991, the second-largest volcanic eruption in the 20th century, caused massive destruction and adversely affected the Provinces of Zambales, Pampanga, Bataan, Tarlac, and Nueva Ecija;

WHEREAS, in commemoration of the 32nd anniversary of the Mt. Pinatubo eruption and the resilience of the people in the Province of Pampanga, the Office of the Governor requested that 15 June 2023 be declared as a special (non-working) day;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the Province of Pampanga be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, LUCAS P. BERSAMIN, Executive Secretary, by authority of the President, FERDINAND R. MARCOS, JR.,  do hereby declare Thursday, 15 June 2023, a special (non-working) day in the Province of Pampanga.
