DECLARING FRIDAY, MAY 12, 2000, AS A SPECIAL DAY IN LUCENA CITY

WHEREAS, Friday, May 12, 2000, is the scheduled date for the holding of recall elections in Lucena City;

WHEREAS, there is a need to declare Friday, May 12, 2000, as a special day to give the electorate of this City full opportunity to participate in the said elections;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Friday, May 12, 2000, as a special day in Lucena City on the occasion of the recall elections.

The various local government units shall extend all possible assistance and support to ensure the smooth conduct of the said elections.
