[ Proclamation No. 498, November 29, 1989 ]

DECLARING DECEMBER 1, 1989 AND EVERY YEAR THEREAFTER AS “ARAW NG KAGITINGAN AT KATAPANGAN SA BO. TIPAS, TAGIG METRO MANILA”

WHEREAS, December 1, 1944 was the day when prominent residents of Bo. Tipas, Tagig, Metro Manila, then part of Rizal Province, died in the hands of the Japanese invading forces;

WHEREAS, among the victims were the General Arsenio Natividad, Rizal Provincial Board Member Ludovico Labao, Judge Deogracias L. Bunyi, Tagig Mayor Artemio Natividad, Colonel Marcos Estacio, Vice-Mayor Braulio Pagkalinawan, Dr. Francisco Sta. Ana, Major Isias O. Umali, Captain Amado P. Balderrama, Atty. Carlos Natividad, several other prominent lawyers, doctors, accountants and other equally known residents of Bo. Tipas including students, employees, workers, farmers and fishermen;

WHEREAS, it is fitting to give them recognition as a source of inspiration and patriotism;

WHEREAS, the residents of Bo. Tipas, Tagig wish to mark this heroic day with fitting activities;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare December 1, 1989 and every year thereafter as “Araw ng Kagitingan at Katapangan sa Bo. Tipas, Tagig, Metro Manila.” The day however shall be a regular working day.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

DONE in the City of Manila, this 29th day of November, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and eighty-nine.
