[ Proclamation No. 485, October 24, 1989 ]

DECLARING THE EXISTENCE OF A STATE OF PUBLIC CALAMITY IN CERTAIN AREAS OF REGIONS I, II, III AND THE CORDILLERA ADMINISTRATIVE REGION AFFECTED BY TYPHOON “TASING.”

WHEREAS, according to the Secretary of National Defense and Chairman, National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC), certain areas suffered and the Cordillera Administrative Region; and

WHEREAS, to cushion the possible economic impact of the typhoon and to enable the agencies concerned to immediately implement measures to alleviate the sufferings and hardships of the disaster victims, there is need to declare the existence of a state of publicly calamity in the aforementioned areas.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby proclaim that a state of public calamity exist in the following areas:

La Union Nueva Viscaya Nueva Ecija

Dagupan City
San Jose City
San Carlos City
Palayan City

Cordillera Administrative Region

Ifugao

Kalinga

Benguet

Baguio City

All departments and other government agencies concerned are hereby directed to implement and execute relief and rehabilitation work in accordance with existing operational plans and directives and orders issued in connection with calamities.1aшphi1
