[ Proclamation No. 483, October 20, 1989 ]

AMENDING PROCLAMATION NO. 479 DATED OCTOBER 12, 1989 DECLARING THE EXISTENCE OF A STATE OF PUBLIC CALAMITY IN CERTAIN AREAS OF REGIONS III, IV, V AND ALL CITIES AND MUNICIPALITIES OF THE NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION TO INCLUDE ADDITIONAL AREAS IN REGIONS IV AND V.

WHEREAS, according to additional reports from the National Disaster Coordinating Council, substantial losses to agricultural crops, infrastructures and private properties were also inflicted in certain areas in Regions IV and V; and

WHEREAS, there is need to declare the existence of a state of public calamity in said areas which have equally suffered from the impact of typhoon “Saling” to support the stabilization efforts of the local government units and the DCC member agencies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby amend Proclamation No. 479 dated October 12, 1989 declaring the existence of a state of public calamity in certain areas of Regions III, IV, V and all cities and municipalities of the National Capital Region to include the following areas:

Region IV	Region V
Rizal	Camarines Sur
	Camarines Norte
	Iriga City
	Naga City

All departments and other government agencies concerned are hereby directed to implement and execute relief and rehabilitation work in accordance with existing operational plans and directives and orders issued in connection with calamities.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
