[ Proclamation No. 469, September 20, 1989 ]

FURTHER AMENDING PROCLAMATION NO. 464 DECLARING THE EXISTENCE OF A STATE OF PUBLIC CALAMITY IN CERTAIN AREAS OF THE CORDILLERA ADMINISTRATIVE REGION, REGION I AND REGION III

WHEREAS, as more areas in Region I and the Cordillera Administrative Region become accessible to the survey teams of the Regional Disaster Coordinating Councils, the disastrous effects of typhoon “Openg” have been assessed to be quite extensive;

WHEREAS, detailed reports show that La Union and Mt. Province including the cities of Laoag, Ilocos Norte and Dagupan, Pangasinan, equally suffered from the impact of typhoon “Openg;”

WHEREAS, the aforementioned stricken areas will need the mustering of national resources to hasten their stabilization as well as restore the flow of commerce, trade and other means of livelihood of the affected inhabitants.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby further amend Proclamation No. 464 declaring the existence of a state of public calamity in certain areas of the Cordillera Administrative Region, Region I and Region III, to include therein La Union and Mt. Province, including Laoag City and Dagupan City.
