[ Proclamation No. 467, September 14, 1989 ]

AUTHORIZING THE FILIPINO WAR VETERANS FOUNDATION (FILVETS), INCORPORATED TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL FUND CAMPAIGN FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR

WHEREAS, under Section 7, Article XVI of the 1987 Constitution, the State shall provide immediate and adequate care, benefits, and other forms of assistance to war veteran and veterans of military campaigns, their surviving spouses and orphans;

WHEREAS, the Filipino War Veterans Foundation (FILVETS), Inc. is a non-profit, non-stock, charitable entity organized by Philippine veterans for the purpose of extending aid and assistance to Filipino veterans of Philippine wars, revolutions, expeditions and campaigns and their dependants to complement the efforts of the Government, and to perpetuate, promote, preserve and memorialize their principles, ideals and deeds as a means to promote patriotism and love of country;

WHEREAS, the welfare of veterans and their dependents should be the concern of all freedom-loving Filipinos and residents of the Philippines and should have their full support;

WHEREAS, the noble and laudable purposes of the Foundation also deserve the full support of every government office and agency, and also the private sector:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Filipino War Veterans Foundation (FILVETS), Inc., to conduct a national fund campaign for a period of one year effective upon the promulgation of this Proclamation.

Contributions, actually paid or made within the taxable year to the Foundation shall be covered by the provisions of Section 30, paragraph (h) of the National Internal Revenue Code, as amended by Executive Order No. 37, dated July 31, 1986 and renumbered as Section 29 under Executive Order No. 273, dated July 25, 1987.1aшphi1
