[ Proclamation No. 455, August 28, 1989 ]

AUTHORIZING THE MANILA BOYS AND GIRLS TOWN FOUNDATION, INC. TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL FUND CAMPAIGN FOR A PERIOD OF THREE (3) YEARS

WHEREAS, the Manila Boys and Girls Town Foundation, Inc. has been organized to provide long-term solution to the problem of street children;

WHEREAS, a large number of these children roam the streets of Manila and other big cities and towns, and their number is increasing;

WHEREAS, there is urgent and compelling need to fully develop the Boys Town Complex at Marikina, Metro Manila, and provide it with the infrastructures and facilities for the accommodation, rehabilitation, and training of these children; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to involve the active and generous participation of the people in this great and noble task;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Manila Boys and Girls Town Foundation, Inc. to conduct a national fund campaign for a period of three (3) years effective upon the promulgation of this Proclamation.

Contributions or gifts actually paid or made within the taxable year to the Foundation shall be governed by the provisions of Section 30, par. (h), of the National Internal Revenue Code as amended by Executive Order No. 37, dated July 31, 1986, and renumbered as Section 29, under Executive Order No. 273, dated July 25, 1987.
