[ Proclamation No. 446, August 14, 1989 ]

DECLARING SEPTEMBER 7 TO SEPTEMBER 20, 1989 AS “PEACE TOYS WEEK”

WHEREAS, Proclamation No. 320, Declaring September 7 to September 20, 1988 as “Peace Toys Week” was issued to “[h]eighten public awareness against the glorification of violence and the propagation of war which war toys promote” and “[t]o introduce children to peace toys and encourage the use thereof for their well-being”, objectives which deserved the support of the Government;

WHEREAS, finding a request for renewal of Proclamation No. 320 “[i]n order to make the observance of Peace Toys Week a huge success like last year” justified and cognizant of the objectives which led to the issuance of Proclamation No. 320;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare September 7 to September 20, 1989 as “Peace Toys Week” under the auspices of the National Federation of Women’s Clubs of the Philippines.

I call upon all public and private offices, institutions and organizations to extend their assistance to make the observance of “Peace Toys Week” meaningful and a success.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
