DECLARING WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 9, 1989, AS “ROQUE B. ABLAN, SR. DAY” IN THE PROVINCE OF ILOCOS NORTE AND THE CITY OF LAOAG

WHEREAS, the ninth day of August is the birthday of the late Governor Roque B. Ablan, Sr., an outstanding resistance leader during the last world war;

WHEREAS, the residents of Ilocos Norte and Laoag City desire to celebrate his birthday with appropriate ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Wednesday, August 9, 1989, as “Roque B. Ablan, Sr. Day” in the Province of Ilocos Norte and the City of Laoag, but it shall be a regular working and school day.
