[ Proclamation No. 417, June 2, 1989 ]

DECLARING JUNE 11 AS THE SUPREME COURT DAY

WHEREAS, the Supreme Court represents one of the three great branches of the Government under the Constitution;

WHEREAS, it is necessary to install consciousness among the people on the important role performed by the Supreme Court in our democratic system of government in upholding the rule of law and maintaining equality before the law since its establishment on June 11, 1901, under Act No. 136;

NOW, THEREFORE I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare June 11 each year as the Supreme Court Day.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
