DECLARING JUNE AS “NATIONAL ORGAN DONATION AWARENESS MONTH”

WHEREAS, one of the most meaningful gifts that one human being can bestow upon another is the precious gift of life, which can be given simply by making arrangements to donate our organs or those of our loved ones after death;

WHEREAS, it is appropriate that we as a nation encourage organ donation and increase public awareness of the need for such donation;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the month of June as “National Organ Donation Awareness Month” under the auspices of the National Kidney Institute.
