[ Proclamation No. 405, April 19, 1989 ]

AUTHORIZING THE MANILA METROPOLITAN THEATER FOUNDATION, INC., TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL FUND CAMPAIGN FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR

WHEREAS, the Manila Metropolitan Theater Foundation Inc., a non-stock and non-profit corporation, is engaged in the restoration, operation, and maintenance of the Metropolitan Theater and in the training of singers, musicians, dancers, and kindred artists whose talents are harnessed by the Foundation as well as by local governments of Metro Manila; and

WHEREAS, the Foundation needs the financial support of the public and private sector to realize it laudable objectives;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Manila Metropolitan Theater Foundation, Inc., to conduct a national fund campaign for a period of one year effective upon the promulgation of this Proclamation.

Donations made within the taxable year to the Manila Metropolitan Theater Foundation, Inc., shall governed by the provisions of Section 30, paragraph (h) of the National Internal Revenue Code, as amended by Executive Order No. 37, dated July 31, 1986, and renumbered as Section 29 under Executive Order No. 273, dated July 25, 1987.
