AMENDING PROCLAMATION NO. 359 DATED JANUARY 23, 1989 BY TRANSFERRING THE CELEBRATION OF “DR. CAMILO OSIAS DAY” FROM MARCH 23, 1989 TO MARCH 17, 1989 IN THE PROVINCE OF LA UNION

WHEREAS, Thursday, March 23, 1989, marks the 100th birthday anniversary of Dr. Camilo Osias, first Filipino Division Superintendent of Schools, author, statesman and patriot, whose ideals and principles in life dedicated to the service of country and people;

WHEREAS, Thursday, March 23, 1989, which was declared “Dr. Camilo Osias Day” in the Province of La Union under Proclamation No. 359, series of 1989, falls on Maundy Thursday, a regular holiday; and

WHEREAS, it is but appropriate to transfer “Dr. Camilo Osias Day” to an earlier date to afford the people of La Union, his birthplace, ample opportunity to celebrate the event with appropriate ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby transfer the celebration of “Dr. Camilo Osias Day” from March 23, 1989, as promulgated under Proclamation No. 359, series of 1989, to March 17, 1989.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
