[ Proclamation No. 369, February 6, 1989 ]

PROCLAIMING A STATE OF PUBLIC CALAMITY IN THE THREE PROVINCES OF NORTHERN, EASTERN AND WESTERN SAMAR.

WHEREAS, the provinces of Northern, Eastern and Western Samar have been badly hit by continuous rains and floods which caused great damage and destruction to life and property in said provinces; and

WHEREAS, a state of public calamity exists in these areas arising from the effects of continuous rains and floods;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby proclaim that a state of public calamity exists in the three provinces of Northern, Eastern and Western Samar.

All departments and other government agencies concerned are hereby directed to implement and execute rescue, relief and rehabilitation work in accordance with existing operational plans and the directive and order issued in connection with calamities.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
