[ Proclamation No. 367, January 30, 1989 ]

DECLARING DECEMBER 2 TO 8 EVERY YEAR AS “URBAN POOR SOLIDARITY WEEK”

WHEREAS, to promote greater understanding of the issues and problems on urbanization, urban poverty, squatting and other related concerns;

WHEREAS, to foster unity, dialogue and cooperation among government agencies, non-government agencies and the urban poor communities in specific programs and projects for the alleviation of urban poverty;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare December 2 to 8 of every year as “Urban Poor Solidarity Week.”

The Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor shall initiate the activities for the observance of the “Urban Poor Solidarity Week”.

All government departments, agencies, and offices, and non-governmental organizations are hereby enjoined to extend the necessary cooperation and support in this undertaking.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
