[ Proclamation No. 1918, October 26, 1979 ]

DECLARING FRIDAY AND SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 2 AND 3, 1979, AS SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAYS

WHEREAS, All Saints Day is celebrated on the first of November of every year in line with the religious tradition in the country of paying homage to departed relatives and friends and that accordingly November 1, 1979 has been classified and declared under Letter of Instruction No. 814 as national special public holiday;

WHEREAS, this occasion serves to foster closer family ties among Filipinos as it brings family members and relatives together; and

WHEREAS, to give ample opportunity to our people to hold family reunions during this observance, it is necessary to extend the holiday period to include Friday and Saturday, November 2 and 3, 1979, without detriment to the public interest;

NOW, THEREFORE, I FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Friday and Saturday, November 2 and 3, 1979, as special public holidays.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS, WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
