DECLARING OCTOBER 21 TO 27, 1979, AS “PREFABRICATION WEEK.”

WHEREAS, the Chamber of Real Estate and Builders Associations, Inc. in cooperation with the World Association for Element-Building and Prefabrication, an International organization based in the Federal Republic of Germany, will hold the Second International Conference on the “Use of Prefabricated Building Elements” in Manila on October 23-25, 1979;

WHEREAS, the said Conference has adopted for its theme “The Rational Application of Prefabrication Technology to Human Settlements Development”;

WHEREAS, in attendance are experts on prefabrication and construction from Europe and Asia, as well as specialists invited from the various United Nations agencies engaged in housing, construction and other developmental projects; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper to focus national attention on the significance of this Conference to the solution of the housing problem prevalent in many developing countries such as ours, as well as its valuable contribution to our own efforts in human settlement development;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from October 21 to 27, 1979, as “Prefabrication Week” under the auspices of the Chamber of Real Estate and Builders Association, Inc.1aшphi1
