[ Proclamation No. 1898, September 5, 1979 ]

DECLARING FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 1979, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF CAMARINES NORTE IN HONOR OF THE LATE WENCESLAO Q. VINZONS.

WHEREAS, the 70th birth anniversary of the late Wenceslao Q. Vinzons, a native son of the province of Camarines Norte, falls on September 28, 1979;

WHEREAS, the courage and love of country with which the late Wenceslao Q. Vinzons offered his life during the last war best exemplify Filipino patriotism; and

WHEREAS, the province of Camarines Norte should be given full opportunity to celebrate his martyrdom with fitting ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Friday, September 28, 1979, as a special public holiday in the province of Camarines Norte, but it shall be a regular working and school day.
