[ Proclamation No. 1895, September 4, 1979 ]

DECLARING SEPTEMBER OF EVERY YEAR AS NATIONAL SCIENCE CLUB MONTH AND AUTHORIZING THE SCIENCE FOUNDATION OF THE PHILIPPINES, IN COORDINATION WITH THE PHILIPPINE SOCIETY OF YOUTH SCIENCE CLUBS, INC., AND THE SCIENCE CLUB ADVISERS ASSOCIATION OF THE PHILIPPINES, INC. TO IMPLEMENT PLANS AND ACTIVITIES FOR THE SAME.

WHEREAS, a full understanding of science, technology and environment is vital in the development of a nation;

WHEREAS, the youth has been identified as a strategic population group which could be most instrumental in the transfer of science and technology to the grassroots level through a national network composed of science clubs;

WHEREAS, the major goals of science clubs are to complement and supplement formal education through out-of-school educative scientific understanding and to popularize science among the masses through such youth activities;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the month of September of every year as National Science Club Month under the auspices of the Science Foundation of the Philippines and other involved organizations.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
