DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM SEPTEMBER 3 TO 10, 1979, AS “ELECTRICAL TECHNOLOGY WEEK”

WHEREAS, the first Conference of Electrical Engineers and Contractors of ASEAN Countries will be held from September 7 to 10, 1979, under the sponsorship of the Society of Philippine Electrical Contractors (SPEC) with the special participation of the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers;

WHEREAS, electrical technology, as a vital factor in the economic development of a nation, is a potent force in the implementation of expanded electrification programs and development of any progressive or underdeveloped country; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting to focus national and international attention on the significant role of electrical engineers and contractors in the country’s expansion and development programs;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, Prime Minister and President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the law, do hereby declare the period from September 3 to 10, 1979, as “Electrical Technology Week” under the sponsorship of the Society of Philippine Electrical Contractors.1aшphi1
