DECLARING THURSDAY, AUGUST 23, 1979, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN CALOOCAN CITY AND QUEZON CITY.

WHEREAS, Thursday, August 23, 1979, marks the 83rd anniversary of the “Cry of Balintawak” which symbolizes our people’s love of freedom and democracy; and

WHEREAS, the residents of Caloocan City and Quezon City where the incident took place desire to celebrate this historical event with fitting ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Thursday, August 23, 1979, as a special public holiday in Caloocan City and Quezon City, but it shall be a regular working and school day.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
