DECLARING THURSDAY, AUGUST 9, 1979, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN LAOAG CITY.

WHEREAS, the ninth day of August is the birthday of the late Governor Roque B. Ablan, an outstanding resistance leader during the last world war; and

WHEREAS, the residents of Laoag City, his birthplace, desire to celebrate his birthday with appropriate ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Thursday, August 9, 1979, as a special public holiday in Laoag City, but it shall be a regular working and school day.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
