[ Proclamation No. 1871, June 29, 1979 ]

CONVENING THE SANGGUNIANG PAMPOOK IN EACH OF REGIONS NINE AND TWELVE

WHEREAS, Batas Pambansa Blg. 20 provides for the creation of the Sangguniang Pampook in each Regions IX and XII, composed of twenty-one members, 17 of whom are representatives elected from the different provinces and component cities in each region, and the additional 5 representatives appointed by the President;

WHEREAS, the said representatives have been elected and proclaimed and the others appointed; and

WHEREAS, the same law provides that the Sangguniang Pampook shall initially convene upon call of the President within sixty days from the Proclamation of a majority of the members of the Sangguniang Pampook;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution and existing law, do hereby convene the Sangguniang Pampook in each of Regions IX and XII, to meet for such number of days as may be necessary commencing on the 7th day of July 1979, to consider such proposed legislation as may be brought before them.1aшphi1

All persons, entitled to sit as Members of the Sangguniang Pampook are requested to take notice of this Proclamation.
