MALACAÑAN PALACE MANILA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES [ Proclamation No. 1844, April 16, 1979 ] SETTING THE DATE FOR THE HOLDING OF PLEBISCITE TO DETERMINE THE CREATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF SAN VICENTE IN THE PROVINCE OF DAVAO DEL NORTE. WHEREAS, Batas Pambansa Bilang 91, which was approved by the President of the Philippines on April 4, 1979 provides that the barangays of Aguinaldo, Banbanon, Binasbas, Cebulida, Ilpapa, Kaligutan, Kapatagan, Kidawa Kilagding, Kiokmay, La-ac, Langtud, Longanapan, Naga and San Antonio, and the sitios of Sabud, Imelda, Mangloy, Mabuhay, Macopa, Inacayan, Andap, Sta. Emelia, Limot, Anitap, Bel Monte and Ampawid, all in the Municipality of Asuncion, Province of Davao del Norte, are separated from the aforesaid municipality, to constitute a separate and independent municipality to be known as the Municipality of San Vicente; WHEREAS, the same Act also provides that a plebiscite shall be held within a period of ninety (90) days from its approval in the aforementioned barangays and sitios to determine whether the people in these areas are in favor of the legislative resolve to constitute the said barangays and sitios into a new and independent municipality to be known as the Municipality of San Vicente in the Province of Davao del Norte; NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law do hereby direct the following: (1) A plebiscite shall be held on Tuesday, May 22, 1979 in the barangays of Aguinaldo, Banbanon, Binasbas, Cebulida, Ilpapa, Kaligutan, Kapatagan, Kidawa Kilagding, Kiokmay, La-ac, Langtud, Longanapan, Naga and San Antonio, and sitios of Sabud, Imelda, Mangloy, Mabuhay, Macopa, Inacayan, Andap, Sta. Emelia, Limot, Anitap, Bel Monte and Ampawid, all in the Municipality of Asuncion, Province of Davao del Norte, to determine whether the people in the aforesaid areas are in favor of constituting the aforementioned barangays and sitios into a separate and independent municipality to be known as the Municipality of San Vicente, Province of Davao del Norte.1aшphi1 (2) The Commission on Elections shall supervise the conduct of the plebiscite in the places herein mentioned in accordance with existing laws, rules and regulations.
