[ Proclamation No. 1840, April 2, 1979 ]

AUTHORIZING THE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM AND LIBRARY, INC. FOUNDATION TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL, MEMBERSHIP AND FUND CAMPAIGN FROM JANUARY 15 TO DECEMBER 31, 1979.

WHEREAS, the promotion of the well-being of our children and their development into good and useful citizens and enlightened leaders or our country are of vital concern to society and all efforts should be exerted in that direction;

WHEREAS, civic projects for the development of the latent capabilities of our youth and the provision of proper facilities for such development should be encouraged;

WHEREAS, the Children’s Museum and Library, Inc. Foundation, a non-stock, non-profit civic foundation, is carrying out a program with objectives geared to these ends; and

WHEREAS, only the unqualified moral and financial support of the entire nation can boost the coordinated efforts of the government and the Children’s Museum and Library, Inc. Foundation for the moral development of the children and youth;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Children’s Museum and Library, Inc. Foundation to conduct a national educational, membership and fund campaign during the period from January 15 to December 31, 1979.

I call upon all citizens, residents, regardless of nationality or creed, business firms, civic, religious, government and educational institutions to support actively and give generously of their means to the CMLI Foundation’s cause for the welfare and development of the children and youth of the country.1aшphi1

It is hereby reiterated that all donations or contributions to the Children’s Museum and Library, Inc. Foundation shall be exempt from income and gift taxes and that all incoming articles in its name are customs duty free, and all shall constitute allowable deductions in full from the income of the donors and contributors for income tax purposes.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
