[ Proclamation No. 1833, March 19, 1979 ]

SETTING THE DATE FOR THE HOLDING OF A PLEBISCITE TO DECIDE THE CREATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF GUTALAC, PROVINCE OF ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE.

WHEREAS, Batas Pambansa Bilang 19, approved on March 6, 1979, provides for the creation of the Municipality of Gutalac, Province of Zamboanga del Norte, out of the western barangays of the Municipality of Labason, Zamboanga del Norte, namely, Gutalac, La Libertad, Lux, Bonganon, Sibalic, Panganuran, Tipan, Kanapon, Pitawi and Mamawan;

WHEREAS, the aforesaid legislative measure also provides that a plebiscite shall be held in the areas affected within a period of ninety (90) days from the approval of the said Act, to determined whether the barangays specified therein shall become a new municipality to be known as the Municipality of Gutalac;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, and pursuant to Batas Pambansa Bilang 19, do hereby direct the following:

(1) On Tuesday, April 17, 1979, a plebiscite shall be held in the barangays of Gutalac, La Libertad, Lux, Bonganon, Sibalic, Panganuran, Tipan, Kanapon, Pitawi, and Mamawan, Municipality of Labason, Province of Zamboanga del Norte, to determine whether the said barangays shall become a new municipality to be known as the Municipality of Gutalac, Province of Zamboanga del Norte.

(2) The Commission on Elections shall supervise the conduct of the aforesaid plebiscite and shall promulgate the rules and regulations necessary to implement this proclamation.1aшphi1
