MALACAÑAN PALACE MANILA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES [ Proclamation No. 1829, March 6, 1979 ] SETTING THE DATES FOR THE HOLDING OF THE PLEBISCITES TO DECIDE THE CREATION OF THE NEW MUNICIPALITIES OF TAMPILISAN AND PONOT, BOTH IN THE PROVINCE OF ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE. WHEREAS, Batas Pambansa Blg. 14, approved on December 22, 1978, provides that a plebiscite shall be held in specific barangays of the municipality of Liloy, province of Zamboanga del Norte, to decide whether said barangays shall become a new municipality to be known as the Municipality of Tampilisan, which shall be conducted within a period of ninety days after the approval of said act; and WHEREAS, Batas Pambansa Blg. 15, approved on January 3, 1979, provides that a plebiscite shall be held in specific barangays of the municipality of Manukan, province of Zamboanga del Norte, to decide whether said barangays shall become a new municipality, to be known as the Municipality of Ponot, which shall be conducted within a period of ninety days after the approval of said Act; NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, and pursuant to Batas Pambansa Blg. 14 and 15, do hereby set the dates for the holding of plebiscites in the areas concerned, as follows: (1) March 22, 1979, the plebiscite in the following barangays of the municipality of Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte: Tampilisan, Cabong, Calingon, Molos, Situbo, Lawaan and New Dapitan, to determine whether said barangays shall be constituted into a new municipality to be known as Tampilisan; and (2) April 3, 1979, the plebiscite in the following barangays of the municipality of Manukan, Zamboanga del Norte: Ponot, Manawan, Dinasan, Tamil, Lopero, Tabon and Madalag, to determine whether said barangays shall be constituted into a new municipality to be known as Ponot. The Commission on Elections shall supervise the conduct of the aforesaid plebiscites and shall promulgate the rules and regulations necessary to implement this proclamation.1aшphi1 IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
