[ Proclamation No. 1817, January 31, 1979 ]

AUTHORIZING THE PHILIPPINE AMATEUR TRACK AND FIELD ASSOCIATION (PATAFA) TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL FUND CAMPAIGN FROM JANUARY 15 TO DECEMBER 31, 1979

WHEREAS, the Philippine Amateur Track and Field Association (PATAFA) is engaged in an expanded program on the improvement and development of track and field in the country down to the barangay level;

WHEREAS, aside from the “Junior Track and Field Championship” project the PATAFA has launched, it will undertake another project which is the Asean Track and Field Championships to be staged in the early part of 1980; and

WHEREAS, to realize these development programs and laudable projects in line with the government’s sports program, the PATAFA needs the moral and financial support of the private and public sector;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Philippine Amateur Track and Field Association (PATAFA) to conduct a national fund campaign during the period from January 15 to December 31, 1979.

I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines, irrespective of nationality or creed, to give generously and participate actively in this campaign.1aшphi1

All donations and contributions to this fund drive shall be exempted from income and gift taxes and the same shall constitute allowable deductions from the income of donors and contributors for income tax purposes.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
