[ Proclamation No. 1812, January 23, 1979 ]

AUTHORIZING THE IGLESIA FILIPINA INDEPENDIENTE (PHILIPPINE INDEPENDENT CHURCH) TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL FUND DRIVE FOR A PERIOD OF TWO YEARS

WHEREAS, the Iglesia Filipina Independiente is an indigenous Church born out of the libertarian struggle of the Filipinos for national as well as spiritual freedom;

WHEREAS, the church has embarked on a project to build the Aglipay National Shrine in Batac, Ilocos Norte, the birthplace of the late Most Rev. Gregorio Aglipay its founder;

WHEREAS, church deserves the support of the general public in its laudable project of perpetuating our cultural heritage;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Iglesia Filipina Independiente to conduct a national fund campaign for a period of two years from the issuance of this proclamation.1aшphi1

All donations and contributions to the Church shall be exempted from all forms of taxes and shall constitute as allowable deduction from the income of the donors.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
