DECLARING AUGUST 31ST OF EVERY YEAR AS SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE CITY OF SURIGAO

WHEREAS, the City of Surigao was created on August 31, 1970, by virtue of Republic Act No. 6134; and

WHEREAS, it is to the best interest of the people of Surigao City that they should be given full opportunity to celebrate their Charter Day every 31st of August with fitting ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President/Prime Minister of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare August 31st of every year as special public holiday in the City of Surigao.
