[ Proclamation No. 1789, September 26, 1978 ]

DECLARING SEPTEMBER 27 OF EVERY YEAR AS “PHYSICIANS DAY”

WHEREAS, the physician’s profession calls for service to humanity regardless of sex, creed, color or nationality;

WHEREAS, the physicians play a vital role in the development of human society as vanguards of the people’s health and well-being; and

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper to focus public attention on this vital role played by physicians in the service of mankind;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare September 27 of every year as “Physician Day”.
