[ Proclamation No. 1788, September 26, 1978 ]

DECLARING WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 1978, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF BATANGAS AND THE CITIES THEREIN.

WHEREAS, Wednesday, September 27, 1978, marks the 113th birth anniversary of the late General Miguel Malvar, one of the greatest revolutionary leaders in the country’s fight for freedom and independence; and

WHEREAS, the people of Batangas desire to celebrate his natal day with fitting ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Wednesday, September 27, 1978, as a special public holiday in the province of Batangas and the cities therein.
