[ Proclamation No. 1785, September 8, 1978 ]

DECLARING THURSDAY AND FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 AND 22, 1978, AS SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAYS.

WHEREAS, pursuant to Proclamation No. 1180 dated August 30, 1978, the country will celebrate our National Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, September 21, 1978, during which we are called upon to reflect on the blessings of goodwill and prosperity achieved under the New Society;

WHEREAS, the most significant achievements in our national effort to bring social justice to every man in this country were undoubtedly attained during the six years of the new era; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper to give the people full opportunity to celebrate this milestone in our history as a nation:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Thursday and Friday, September 21 and 22, 1978, as special public holidays.1aшphi1
