DECLARING SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 1978, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN SAN ISIDRO, NUEVA ECIJA

WHEREAS, the “First Cry” in the province of Nueva Ecija, which ushered in the historical uprising of the Katipunan against the Spanish regime, took place in the municipality of San Isidro on September 2, 1896; and

WHEREAS, the people therein should be given full opportunity to celebrate with fitting ceremonies this historic event;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Saturday, September 2, 1978, as a special public holiday in San Isidro, Nueva Ecija.
