DECLARING SEPTEMBER 4-8, 1978 AS INFORMATION AND COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY WEEK

WHEREAS, there is a need to highlight the important role that information systems play in the development process, particularly in policy formation and in the implementation of development programs;

WHEREAS, there is a necessity to focus attention on the need for more efficient methods of gathering, processing and utilizing information in the light of recent trends toward the use of rational analysis as the basis for designing and implementing explicit and coherent plans and policies;

WHEREAS, there is a necessity to focus public attention on the roles of information and computer technology in national development;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare September 4-8, 1978 as Information and Computer Technology Week.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
