[ Proclamation No. 1765, August 4, 1978 ]

DESIGNATING THE PERIOD FROM JULY 1, 1978 TO JUNE 30, 1979 FOR THE ANNUAL EDUCATIONAL, MEMBERSHIP AND FUND CAMPAIGN OF THE COMMUNITY CHEST FOUNDATION OF METROPOLITAN MANILA AND RIZAL, INC.

WHEREAS, the Community Chest Foundation for Metropolitan Manila and Rizal, Inc. (CCFMM), undertakes community welfare projects of great magnitude and dimension through its 31 welfare service agencies;

WHEREAS, the objectives of the CCFMM seek to make this Foundation more relevant to the expanding social development needs of the communities within the sphere of its solicitation, employs the “United Appeal” concept of fund raising to reduce multiple campaigns and help more meaningfully in meeting the needs of CCFMM agencies for their local welfare activities in Metro-Manila and the towns of Rizal;

WHEREAS, the CCFMM also seeks to establish closer working rapport between the private sector and the local governments for social welfare undertakings through the cooperation of government and private sector leadership; and

WHEREAS, in order that the humanitarian and community welfare objectives of the Community Chest Foundation of Metropolitan Manila and Rizal may be fully achieved, the moral and financial support of the populace is necessary;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby designate the period from July 1, 1978 to June 30, 1979 for the annual educational, membership and fund campaign of the Community Chest Foundation of Metropolitan Manila and Rizal, Inc.

In view hereof, I hereby call upon all residents of the area, whatever race or creed, business, commercial and industrial firms, professional and civic groups, school personnel and employees of government offices and agencies within the Metropolitan Manila area and the entire province of Rizal, to fully support the educational and fund campaign of the Community Chest Foundation of Metropolitan Manila and Rizal, by giving generously of their means to this single “United Appeal” campaign, for the promotion of the economic well-being of our less fortunate countrymen in the above-cited area of solicitation.1aшphi1
