[ Proclamation No. 1754, June 22, 1978 ]

RESERVING A STRIP OF LAND ALONG MARCOS HIGHWAY FROM AGOO, LA UNION TO BAGUIO CITY FOR WATERSHED AND FOREST RESERVE PURPOSES.

WHEREAS, watersheds and forest areas along the entire length of the Marcos Highway from Agoo, La Union to Baguio City need to be preserved to protect the road from erosion;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby reserve for watershed and forest reserve purposes a strip of land five kilometers from either side of the Marcos Highway from Agoo, La Union to Baguio City. Said strip of land shall be closed to logging and mineral exploration, but may be released for human settlement purposes upon recommendation of the Ministers of Natural Resources and Human Settlements.

All logging and mineral exploration permits or licenses are hereby revoked or cancelled.
