PROVIDING SPECIAL TAX INCREASING INCENTIVES TO PARTICIPANTS IN THE FIRST PACIFIC TRAVEL MART

WHEREAS, the Philippines has been selected site of the first tourism exhibit of the Pacific Area Travel Association from June 2-7, 1978 at the Philippine International Convention Center;

WHEREAS, in the Pacific Travel Mart shall converge the biggest number of private and government travel-tourist organizations in Asia and the Pacific, thus enhancing the status of Philippine tourism, fostering goodwill, social and cultural ties among participating nations and stimulating economic growth in the country;

WHEREAS, as host and in consonance with the developmental thrust of the local tourism industry, the Philippines is prepared to extend the warmest hospitality to Travel Mart delegates and visitors alike, as well as lend all the necessary support to ensure the over-all success of this project;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby direct the Department of Finance and the Bureau of Customs to exempt from the payment of customs duties and other taxes thereon all exhibit materials, promotional materials consisting of books, brochures, maps and other giveaways as well as equipment to be used provided said equipment shall be re-exported to the originating country upon the termination of the exhibition.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
