[ Proclamation No. 1729, April 14, 1978 ]

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM APRIL 24 TO 30, 1978 AND EVERY YEAR THEREAFTER, AS EMPLOYER-EMPLOYEE WEEK

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the State to promote a sound and stable relationship between the employers and employees in our country, by inspiring and strengthening in them a deep sense of awareness and appreciation of the fact that they share a common commitment and responsibility to the nation and for the enhancement of public interest, and that they are indeed the most vital instrument of our society in its quest for freedom, justice and democracy, and in the realization of our national efforts for economic development and social progress; and

WHEREAS, in accordance with the aforesaid policy, the Government deems it appropriate that the period from April 24 to 30 this year and every year thereafter, be declared as Employer-Employee Week, to serve as an occasion for extending recognition to the significant role that employers and employees perform in nation-building and as a means to foster the great partnership between them through cooperation, understanding, and constructive enterprise;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby proclaim the period from April 24, to 30, 1978, and every year thereafter, as Employer-Employee Week.1aшphi1

The Department of Labor, in coordination with the government agencies and offices concerned as well as with the private sector, is hereby directed to undertake such projects and program of activities as may be required in the observance of the aforesaid occasion.
