[ Proclamation No. 1727, April 4, 1978 ]

DECLARING THURSDAY AND SATURDAY, APRIL 6 AND 8, 1978, RESPECTIVELY, AS SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAYS.

WHEREAS, pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 1296, entitled “The 1978 Election Code”, April 7, 1978, has been designated as the date for the election of the representatives to the Interim Batasang Pambansa; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to the principle of participatory democracy, the people should be given the fullest opportunity to take part in this election;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Thursday and Saturday, April 6 and 8, 1978 as special public holidays.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
